Kenneth McGrath is an experienced Irish retail executive. He is well known for his leadership in the global discount supermarket sector. Kenneth McGrath works with Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG. This is one of the world’s discount retail chains. At Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG Kenneth McGrath has an important job. He is the CEO and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board. Kenneth McGrath is in charge of Lidl Internationals business, around the world.

Lidl was started in Germany. It is part of the Schwarz Group. The company Lidl has than 12,000 stores in over 30 countries. This makes Lidl one of the grocery retailers in the world. Lidl competes with stores, like Aldi that also sell things at a discount.

Early Career & Rise in Retail

McGrath started working in retail in the 2000s. He got a job at Lidl in Ireland in 2001. People quickly noticed that McGrath was really good at running things. He left Lidl for a while but then he came back in 2009 to be the Managing Director of Lidl Ireland. When McGrath was in charge of Lidl Ireland the company did well. Lidl got a lot more customers and people started to like the store. This made McGrath an important person, in the grocery retail business particularly in the Lidl company. McGrath and the Lidl company became well known because of this.

He later took on the task of helping Lidl get into the United States. Lidl had to set up its main office in the US and get everything ready to sell groceries in America. This was a job, for Lidl and it was an important step for the company to start selling groceries in the United States.

Leadership at Save-A-Lot & Return to Lidl

McGrath worked at Lidl for a while. Then he moved to the United States to be the CEO of Save-A-Lot. Save-A-Lot is a store where people can buy groceries for cheap. McGrath was the CEO of Save-A-Lot, from 2017. During that time he worked on making changes at Save-A-Lot. He wanted to make sure the business was stable and that Save-A-Lot could do better in the market.

In 2021 McGrath went back to Lidls leadership team in Germany. He got a job as Deputy Chairman and a senior leader for Lidls operations around the world. People say this new role meant McGrath was in charge of Lidls plan for the world including Europe, the United States and other places. This shows that McGrath has a lot of experience with Lidl and knows how to make their stores successful in different countries. McGrath was responsible, for Lidls operations and helped the company grow.

Vision & Impact

McGrath is a leader because he really knows what he is doing when it comes to selling things at very low prices. He is very good at helping Lidl get bigger and stronger.

His job at Lidl is to help the company sell its products around the world. He has to figure out how to deal with companies that are trying to sell the same things.
