Sennheiser Announces Leadership Transition: Daniel Sennheiser to Become Chairman in 2026
Sennheiser, the German audio technology leader, has made a notable leadership transition. On January 1, 2026, Daniel Sennheiser will move from Co-CEO to Chairman of the Board of Directors. His brother, Dr. Andreas Sennheiser, will remain as CEO, responsible for the operational business of the company. This transition brings an end to more than a decade of joint leadership by the two brothers and marks a strategic maneuver to further cement the future direction of the company.
The Sennheiser Group, which was established in 1945 by Dr. Fritz Sennheiser, has remained a three-generation family business. Daniel and Andreas Sennheiser have been Co-CEOs of the company since 2013, taking it through major technical innovation and expansion into new markets. Their vision has been key to keeping Sennheiser ahead of the game in the audio business.
As Chairman, Daniel Sennheiser will concentrate on the company’s long-term strategic direction, such as enhancing key customer relations and identifying new opportunities for growth. He stressed the significance of this move, saying, “By becoming a member of the Board of Directors, I will focus more on the long-term development of the company and on continuously nurturing key customer relations.”
Continuity in Leadership
Dr. Andreas Sennheiser will continue to lead the company as CEO, continuing to oversee the operational business of the company as well as the Executive Management Board. This stability will allow Sennheiser to uphold its focus on innovation and quality while evolving alongside the changing audio technology environment. Andreas said he was optimistic about the new setup, adding, “This new setup allows us to balance day-to-day business with forward thinking, which will be essential for the future success of the Sennheiser Group.”
Embracing Past Leadership
Daniel Sennheiser replaces Andreas Dornbracht, who served as Chairman of the Board for the last four years. Dornbracht will continue to serve on the Board as a member, but will no longer be Chairman of the Board. Daniel was grateful to Dornbracht for his leadership and said, “We sincerely thank Andreas Dornbracht for his dedicated and forward-looking leadership over the past years.”
Looking Ahead
As Sennheiser marks its 80th anniversary in 2025, the company is steadfast in its pursuit of shaping the future of audio. The leadership change has been viewed as a strategic step to position the company for sustained growth and innovation. With a solid foundation in decades of experience and a future-oriented leadership framework, Sennheiser is well positioned to ride the challenges and opportunities of the shifting audio technology landscape.
