Germany’s Finance Minister in Kyiv: “Ukraine Can Count on Us,” Sends Strong Warning to Putin
In a powerful show of solidarity, German Finance Minister and Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil made an unannounced visit to Kyiv on Monday, where he firmly reiterated Germany’s unwavering support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
“Ukraine can count on Germany, now and in the future,” Klingbeil declared, sending a direct message to Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Let there be no doubt — our support is not weakening.”
Klingbeil’s surprise visit underscores Berlin’s commitment to Ukraine, not just in terms of financial aid, but also in its geopolitical stance. He emphasized that Germany will remain a reliable partner for Ukraine as it continues its resistance against the ongoing Russian invasion.
The visit comes amid growing discussions among Western allies about long-term security guarantees, reconstruction funding, and a sustainable path forward for Ukraine’s defense and economic recovery.
“Putin should be aware,” Klingbeil warned, “that Germany stands firm.”
