Benjamin Hein—New CEO at Merck Electronics
Benjamin Hein is an experienced leader. He has worked at Merck KGaA for than ten years. On May 1 2026 Benjamin Hein will become the CEO of Mercks Electronics business sector. This is a deal for Merck, the German company. It is one of the important leadership changes at Merck this year. Benjamin Hein will be, in charge of Mercks Electronics business sector.
Merck said they are making a change to the executive board at the end of January. Hein will take over the job that Kai Beckmann has now. Kai Beckmann will get a job he will become the Chairman of Mercks Executive Board and the Group CEO on the same day.
This change is part of a plan to make some changes to the people, in charge at Merck. The goal of this plan is to help Merck focus on ideas and grow its Merck business units in a smart way.
Hein got a job and this is after he worked at Merck for 13 years. He did lots of jobs at Merck and people know him for having good ideas and making them happen. Before this job Hein was in charge of Mercks Life Science Services in the United States. He made sure everything ran smoothly with services like developing and making products and testing them. This job helped him learn a lot, about how to run things in markets that are growing fast. Hein worked with Mercks Life Science Services. He knows what he is doing.
Hein has learned a lot about how the Electronics division works over the years. He used to be the Head of Strategy and Business Transformation for the division. In this role Hein helped Merck Electronics make some changes like focusing more on semiconductor materials and advanced electronic components. Before that Hein had jobs in Asia and Europe. In these jobs he made sure the Electronics division had relationships with customers and that the division was growing. Hein did a lot to help the Electronics division grow and become stronger. The Electronics division is very important, to Hein. He has a lot of experience working with it.
Hein is going to start doing work as the Head of Business Growth and Customer Value for the Electronics business on March 1 2026. This new job will help him get ready to be the CEO on.
Hein will work closely with the management team in Darmstadt, Germany to make sure the Electronics business does things that customers want. The goal is to help the Electronics division grow in the future. Hein will be taking on this role to make the transition, to CEO go smoothly.
