Rheinmetall Eyes Naval Expansion — CEO Armin Papperger

German arms maker Rheinmetall AG is moving fast to get into the naval defence sector. They want to grow after they agreed to buy the warship division of Lürssen for about €1.35 billion. The deal to buy Naval Vessels Lürssen, which’s a big German military shipbuilder is expected to be finished soon. This will happen when it gets approval, from the people who regulate these things. Rheinmetall AG is really getting into the naval defence sector with this move. Naval defence sector is where they want to be.

The CEO of the company, Armin Papperger said that the company is now, in the business. The company wants to do more in this area. They might even buy companies that do naval work.. Armin Papperger made it clear that they are not talking to German Naval Yards Kiel about buying them right now. There were rumors that they might. That is not true.

Rheinmetall is making a change in the way they do business. They used to focus on things like tanks and big guns that are used on land. Now Rheinmetall is getting into building ships for the navy. This is happening because European countries are spending money on defense. Rheinmetall thinks that Germany will spend around €31 billion on vessels by the year 2035. This is a deal, for Rheinmetall and their naval shipbuilding business.

The company thinks this expansion is a way for it to become a supplier of defence equipment for many areas. These areas include land, sea, air and space. The company wants to play a role, in the European defence industry and make it stronger. The company sees this as a way to make that happen.

Rheinmetall has decided to purchase Naval Vessels Lürssen, which is also known as NVL. This means that Rheinmetall will now be involved in building ships, which is a new area of business for the company. Rheinmetall is adding shipbuilding, to the things it already does.

The CEO, Armin Papperger said that the company wants to get bigger in the sector. The company also wants to buy other companies. CEO Armin Papperger thinks this is a way for the company to grow.

There were no active negotiations with other shipyards like German Naval Yards Kiel at the time.

Growth is happening because defence budgets in Europe are getting bigger. This is especially true when it comes to procurement in Europe. The defence budgets in Europe are going up. That is why we are seeing growth, in nval procurement in Europe.

Armin Theodor Papperger is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Rheinmetall AG, a leading German arms and defence technology group. Under his leadership, Rheinmetall has significantly diversified its portfolio, particularly following the acquisition of NVL to enter the naval shipbuilding market.
